My new laptop :D

Soo...... I got a Macbook!

The three most wonderful things about it?

A) It is beautiful.

B) It is wonderful.

C) It is my new best friend :D

I am sooo excited about it! *Gasp!* "It" I say, when I know very well his name is Absolem II :D (Because he is all knowing and pretty much awesome in every way)

The means by which I got this laptop were very interesting.

Once upon a time, I had a laptop. This was a fantastical, old Dell laptop that used to belong to my mom, but she got a Macbook Pro, so she handed it down to me.

At first I was skeptical; unsure of it's monstrous size and inability to load pages in less than five seconds. But eventually, I grew to love this old Dell--whose name, I realized, was DudeMan, due to the fact that that's what I called it whenever I was frustrated with it. It held every wonderful short story I had every written, had been with me through thick and thin, and had all of my favorites on this awesome little sidebar that Macs don't have :(

However, it was too good to last.

Slowly but surely, this amazing laptop began to fade. His charger stopped working, so I knew it was only a matter of time before he..... passed on *sniffle*.

Though I was depressed, I was not out of my wits. I was sure to save all of the important files to a fantastic little jump drive that I found on a shelf above our old computer.

Of course, DudeMan eventually failed me, dying in my arms. I tried to revive him once more, but alas, it was too late.

So naturally I decided that it was time to find a new laptop, eventually deciding on a marvelous looking Dell that I found on--believe it or not--Dell.com.

I began saving up for it, acquiring money any way I could, even selling old school books on eBay. When one day....

My grandmother called!

She and my dad use Skype all the time, and she happened to call one night, merely asking if there was anything we needed for school, because she would be willing to pay for it! The answer to my prayers! So, it came yesterday, and I am so happy :D

I Finished Lost!

Well, the title says it all! I finally, after weeks of questions and cliff hangers and dramatic elements, have finished Lost.

There is a sad sense of loss, now that it's over. A feeling of, "Oh, now life is pointless." But never fear! If you have yet to finish Lost, and a feeling of dread has come over you as you impatiently yet in fear await the season six finale, there is life outside of the Lost world! You just have to believe!

I cried a couple of times last night as my mom and I watched those last few episodes. I won't go into much detail in courtesy of my fellow bloggers who are also watching Lost, but let me tell you that it's epic.

I still have questions, even after it's over, which is seriously frustrating, as it's OVER. Ah well, J.J. Abrams is like, the master of awesome TV series. Anyone seen Alias? He made that too, and everyone should watch it :)

North Carolina!

So, it's been a while since I've posted anything, so I thought I'd tell you about our camping trip in North Carolina!

Jordan, my mom and I went camping in Brevard, a quaint little town where the folks all know each other and there are busy little streets, and that whole thing. The campground was called Ash Grove, hence the sign :P.

Our first day was disastrous as it was raining, and we had to put up our tent while it was raining. Not to mention, we had the last campsite on the path, about a five minute walk to the restrooms and parking lot, which is a lot longer than it sounds, especially when you are walking in the dark with only a book light that you can't even hold because your arms are full of stuff that you need to being to the tent.

--*Cough.* Anyway.

The next day was considerably

better, and we drove up to the

Blue Ridge Parkway! We pretty much just drove and drove and drove until we reached a place that caught our fancy, which we would take a look at, and then we would drive again.

Oh yeah, there was this cute little coffee shop called "Quotations" that we went to like, every morning. They pretty much had the best coffee EVER, and I really want to go back.

We stopped at this awesome

little town, where there was a real soda fountain! It was pretty darn awesome.

We also went to the Biltmore Estate, which was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, you aren't allowed to take pictures inside, but we did get a couple of outside pics!

The gardens were gorgeous......

We stopped at this one overlook, and there was "Dale?" painted on the ground. *Eerie music...*

So there was this place called Sliding Rock, and--get this--, the people could actually slide down the rock, into the pool of water at the bottom. It was pretty intense. (Oh, and that's some random kid in the picture, just so ya know)

I'd love to tell it all, but I'm sure you would get quite bored of my endless chattering, so I'll spare you of it :)

The trip was all in all a wonderful time, however unpleasant the actual camping was, and I can't wait to go back! :D

Okay, this post is for Julie, a girl from dance. . . I told her that I have a blog, and she was like, "Oh, you're gonna blog about how awesome I am, right?" And I was like, "Riiiight. . ." But I decided to anyway, 'cause I'm just nice like that :)
So. . . Julie. She's. . . cool. . . I guess (lol). She is a pretty dang good dancer, and. . . . . she wants to audition for the Rockettes when she's 14. She's just about the tallest girl I know, and she is exceptionally weird (haha).

Lost

Soo, it's been a few weeks since I've posted anything, so I'm gonna write about Lost.
I started watching Lost last. . . Tuesday? I think it was Tuesday. . . Anyhow, I am ADDICTED. Really, it's sad how much I've been watching it lately. . . I'm already half way through the second season--GASP--so yeah. But it's just so GOOD! I mean, if you watch just one episode, you're hooked and you can't get away! I think it's because it is just so supernatural. Because when I watch those normal shows about people working in hospitals, or FBI nonsense, it's just so boring! What are the odds that a bunch of people would crash on this island in the middle of nowhere where creepy people and monsters live?? *Sigh* it's just amazing . . . . and I love how they do these flashbacks with each character to before the crash, and you get to learn all about them and stuff. Basically, if you haven't already watched Lost, then you need to. :D

National Doughnut Day!

Happy National Doughnut Day everyone! Haha, I don't get why there's a day celebrating doughnuts, but whatever. . . We celebrated by getting some doughnuts =).

Hello!

Well, it's already Memorial Day, and I had a lot of fun today! We woke up at about nine, didn't leave for the beach till about ten-thirty, and then drove to New Smyrna Beach to hang with some awesome peoples for the day. I didn't realize just how much fun four square is until today, by the way. We buried Taylor, which was fun. . . and the water was amazing!!! I think it was nicest that it's been all year! When I got home, I saw that I was VERY red, I fell asleep for about an hour, and when I woke up I made some guacamole and opened this thing called the "Cricut" that my mom got about an age ago. It's this awesome little machine that cuts paper for you! I know, awesome, right? Haha, it doesn't exactly sound that amazing, but it's actually very cool. Each--I dunno, pack, I guess?--comes with this keyboard attachment that you put on over the blank keys, and then you type in what you want to cut. You can choose the size and the placement on the paper and stuff, and you can make all sorts of things that you would never think it possible to make from something like this. . . so, that's what we're doing right now: cutting things out (I say "we" but it's really just my mom). We're also listening to Coldplay. . . very cool, I love Coldplay!!!

My show is this weekend! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!! =D

Hmm. . . what else? Ooh! I know: apparently Jack Johnson is coming to a nearby city in August, and I want to go see him! It would be wicked cool. . .

I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich today, which I haven't had for a while, so that was interesting.

I've been writing this random story for a while. . . it has nothing to do with my main story, it just sort of popped into my head, so I started typing it, and now it's snowballing into something quite interesting. . .

Come watch my show!!!

Okay, so Cinderella/Channel Surfing is in a couple of weeks, and you need to come see it!
Tickets are $20 at the door, or $18 if you buy them at my studio now, which I doubt any of you will do. The show is on June 6th, at 2:00 p.m. at Peabody Auditorium. Elisha is in it too, so all the more reason to come see it! I think she sent an invite out on FB, so come come come!!!
For Channel Surfing, I am in the Shopping Channel (it might be called something else in the program) and Twilight! Twilight will be the last dance in the Channel Surfing show, just so ya know =P. And for Cinderella (who is played by the amazing Grace D.) I will be at the ball! I believe we are called Baronesses or something of that sort, but I don't really know, so you'll just have to wait and see the program.
Elisha--in Channel Surfing--will be doing Discovery Channel for modern (they're these animals or something. . .) and she is doing Smooth Criminal for jazz. You know, as in Michael Jackson? In Cinderella she is one of the unlucky princesses that gets to meet the prince, but unfortunately the prince falls for Cinderella (aww) so there you have it!

Costumes

We got our costumes for the sci-fi show today! If you don't already know, I am in this years Cinderella for my dance school. However, seeing as Cinderella is a classical ballet and you can't exactly put jazz and modern in it, there is going to be a seperate show: Sci-Fi/Channel Surfing.
The idea is that every dance is a different T.V channel. In my class, we are Twilight for modern, and the shopping channel for jazz. So, we're supposed to be vampires and such for modern, but our costumes make us look like people from the Matrix. And for jazz, we basically look like some girly teenagers in bright dresses, but they're cute, so it's all good =D.
So I finally introduced myself to the infamous Lexie today. She is the ESPA alumnis and she is apart of the Golden Girls at FSU. I must have sounded so weird to her: "Hi, you're Lexie, right? I've always wanted to meet you 'cause everyone says that you're really awesome and stuff. . . I'm Jessica!" However, she was very nice and said "Aw, nice to meet you!" and then she walked away. . . . D':

Nothing in Particular

Well, as anyone might have already guess, I'm not really going to post anything of importance. . . usually just random nonsense.

I watched this really awesome interview of J.K. Rowling on YouTube the other day. . .she told the reporter all sorts of weird facts about the book that she never put in the book. Go watch it! It's pretty cool. . .
Guess what? I had cereal for breakfast! I haven't had cereal in ages. . .
Iron Man 2 is coming out today. It would be fun to go see it. I think it comes out at midnight or something. But Iron Man is such a weird idea. I mean, he's not a super hero, right? He's just some random guy that got thrown in some prison or something (it's been a while since I've seen the movie) and then he has that giant thing in his stomach and that scientist or whatever gives him that suit and he calls himself Iron Man! I probably got that all wrong, but it's the basic idea. OH, I just found out that the dude that plays Iron Man also plays Sherlock Holmes! Now that movie was awesome. But I still want to see Iron Man 2. . . I should probably watch the first movie first though. . .
I really seem to be getting somewhere with my book. YAY! There are just soo many details and ends that you have to tie off and it gets very tiresome when all you want to do is write! I mean, I have two seperate folders in my Microsoft Word: one is just notes, and the other one is my actual story. I look at my notes every night--which consist of characters, creatures, places, the main plot, random things like the name of this certain spice, or the history of that object--and I go through and make sure that everything is in its place, and I change what I want to the main plot, or I add details on to the second and third book main plots. . . and then sometimes I'll just go to my second folder and write random things from the plot that I think sound like fun to write. For example, the other night, I felt like writing about this one scene where my characters encounter this freakish creature, and it was SO much fun! Just imagining what's going on like a movie in my head. . .way fun.
Randomness: I had this coconut flavored popsicle last night, and it was AMAZING.

Extreme Disney Trip

We went to Disney this weekend! It was the most extreme Disney trip that I've ever been on, because--for the first time--I went on Tower of Terror and Expedition Everest! We wanted to go on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, but the wait was an hour or something outrageous of that sort, so we decided not to.
Tower of Terror was was so. . . crazy! The drops are so sudden and you leave your seat for a second--which is insanely scary. You know in books when it's from the character's perspective, and they're like, "Someone was screaming. . . or was it me?" Yeah well that's pretty much how it felt--totally unaware of your own screams. Anyhow, it was a fun thrill. Though when my amazing, crazy, roller-coaster-riding-buddy wanted to go on it again right after (the wait was only ten minutes) I was hesitant, and when we finally decided to go again, the wait had gone up to forty minutes, so we left.
We went on the coolio classico Star Wars ride, and then the Great Movie Ride, which are both fun/funny and the kind of rides that you have to do. While we were there, we saw tons of high school seniors all dressed up, and once the incredibly loud music started, we presumed that there was a prom going on.
That night, at about 11:30, we decided to go for a swim. There were only a few other people there, so it was fun. After an hour long swim, we went back up to our room, which had an awesome view by the way, and had some left overs from an amazing restaurant that sells cheese cake. There we were, sitting on the bathroom floor for fear of waking up our fellow staying-in-roomers, when we decided that we were still hungry. So we ran through the hotel looking for a food machine or some open snack shop or something. Alas, there weren't any stores open, or vending machines, so we just went to bed.
The next day, we got to ride Expedition Everest! WAY FUN! The part where you go backwards in the dark was sooo extreme. Basically, it is now my favorite ride at Disney.

Nutcracker Auditions!

Tomorrow, at 6:00 P.M, a magcial thing will happen. . . auditions for the Nutcracker!
This will be my third year with this company doing the Nutcracker, and I am so excited! I just realized that one pair of my pointe shoes is almost dead compared to the other pair, so I will be wearing my less-dead pair tomorrow, yay! I will be seeing my awesome friends Vivienne and Stephanie again! Super yay! I missed them sooo much, and it will be awesome to see them again! I want to be the Harlequin Doll this year, but chances are fifty-fifty. . . Ah well, just participating is awesome =D
Last year I was an understudy for Snow, (an understudy is there incase a dancer is sick or can't perform) so this year I'm hoping to be an actual Snowflake! That would totally rock my socks, but as I said, any part would be way cool :).
I'll try to remember to bring my camera tomorrow to take some awesome pitures and post them. . .
